*SOLD* - WILLYS 1947 CJ-2A - For the great outdoors!

The Willys CJ2A was the first mass-produced Jeep for the civilian market. Production began on July 17, 1945. Two civilian models preceded the CJ2A, the CJ-1 and the CJ-2, probably built around 1944 as the war was winding down. No CJ-1s are known to survive and only 45 CJ-2s, known as AgriJeeps, were built. The CJ2A is noticeably different in appearance from the original Jeep. It has larger headlights flush-mounted in a seven-slot grille.--Source www.thecj2apage.com

This beautifully restored 1947 CJ2A was a wedding present to my Step-father from my Mother in 1959. It was used at our 400-acre farm near St. Louis in the Ozark foothils. The Jeep has approximately 66,000 miles and is titled and licensed in California. The engine after rebuild has about 100 miles. It runs very well, and is perfect for those who like open country living. The engine, transmission, clutch, drive train, fuel system, cooling system, electrical system (six volt), and heater were rebuilt with mostly new parts.

It comes equipped with a new BestTop, new upholstery in very good condition, seat belts, all new military type tires with new spare (five total), new highway approved brake lights / turn signals / flashers, non-original heavy duty front bumper, operating Manual, mechanics manual, parts manual, and has been garaged since restoration. Major rust damage has been either replaced or repaired. Some non-structural rust remains on the underside. The jeep requires little if any work.

I did sell the old girl to a nice family who are going to use it in the Sierra foothills of California. For help in determining values of CJ-2A's, check this link to the NADA Value Guide. If you have a problem viewing this, or desire more information, email EdLortz@aol.com

CJ2A - Label Plate CJ2A - Pre-Restoration Before the Restoration the jeep fell into neglect after my Mother and Step-father died, until it was rescued in 1999. I wish I had another farm where the Jeep could roam, but, alas, I don't have room to take care of the baby, and must part with it.
