Group provides tips on recycling, items for sale (such as a grand old 1947
civilian Jeep way before these vehicles took over American roads), information
about our Potrero Hill neighborhood, and other miscellaneous links. Potrero Hill boasts fantastic postcard views of S.F. downtown and the East Bay and has had its shares of film and TV show locations. This San Francisco mole hill has been in transition for some time now, even before the dot coms threatened to take over the neighborhood. For those familiar with the old recycling center, it has been replaced by four vacant office buildings. Part of the Hill will soon have its power and phone lines undergrounded. Recycling is big at our house. At least two-thirds of our trash wind up in the blue boxes. Take a look at how we do it. 1947 CJ-2A Jeep is another thing we've recycled. This civilian jeep was completely restored in 1999, the engine rebuilt, all components rebuilt or replaced, and had five new military type tires installed. It was purchased in 1959 by my Mother for my Stepfather as a wedding present to run around the farm in Glencoe, Missouri. World Trade Center, New York. In commemoration of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack, here is a photo of the Towers taken at night in 1985 from the back porch of my house in Jersey City. |
