Mexico, Yucatan Peninsula 1999: we rented a car and drove across the peninsula starting in the city of Mérida in the state of Yucatan and ending in Cancun in the state of Quintana Roo.
Peru 1996: although we liked Lima, the Inca cities of Machu Picchu/Cusco and the Amazon River/Jungle were our intended destination.
